Thank you Megs of “Between The Pages” for tagging me in “THE UNIQUE BLOGGER AWARD TAG!” I appreciate it so much. I do think I am pretty unique ;). Megs is one of the members of the book blogging chat group I am in and I enjoy getting to know her better and you should get to know her better as well by checking out that link I posted to her blog. Go comment and follow her, she deserve it!

THE RULES:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Megs’s Questions:

What is your favourite childhood memory?

I would say that perhaps one of my favorite childhood memories was one where I skipped school. I had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with a rerun of a television program. My grandparents, who I was raised by, put a television in the bedroom my sister and I shared. It was a HUGE mistake. One day when I was supposed to have gotten up to go to school I hid under the bed to stay home and watch an episode of:

It appears even back then I knew that I loved this particular character. When I was discovered by my grandparents I got a good scolding and the television never saw the bedroom ever again. Nor was a television ever put in any of the bedrooms I was in throughout the remainder of my childhood. Guess it was a good thing? Since it helped me to learn to love to read over watching television programming.

What is your biggest dream?

I would easily say that I have two dreams at this particular juncture of my life. The first being that I would like to get to Spring or Summer 2019 and finish out my Masters of Social Work degree. This will open up a lot of doors for me to work with individuals in fields that I want to work within (i.e. mental health and with the marginalized population of LGBT individuals).  This is truly one of my biggest dreams is to be able to help others in some type of meaningful way with the work that I do on a regular basis. The other dream and pretty big is to finally get the courage to start writing frequently and publish books. I have several ideas that are always in my brain, but I feel that I am not “allowed” to write for some reason. I am working on giving myself permission to enter into that world, but it is a bit of a process. If I do join up into the writing game at some point book blogger you better be nice! 😉 Cause some of ya’ll can be vicious on things.  Most of you are beautiful though and I love you so much, which is why I am part of the community. However some of you need a straight up exorcism sometimes.

If you could have dinner with one famous person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Due to the moment of history that we are in I would want to sit down with any number of prominent African-American authors. I would want to pick their brains on racial issues. I would want to take in their knowledge so that I can be a stronger and more helpful advocate for their issues. I am thinking of authors like bell hooks, Alice Walker, and the no-longer with us Maya Angelou. These are people I would love to get to know on a deeper level and understand better their world. I live in my own marginalized world, but I can never truly understand their experiences and I would like to hear their voices. Hear their thoughts on change. Hear how we can move forward as a population. It would be a beautiful conversation.

Ya’ll know that I don’t tag no one, but if you come across this tag on my blog and want to do it, here are my questions:

  1. If you could be any mythological creature (i.e. pegasus, unicorn, elf, gnome, etc.) which would you choose and why?
  2. What do you feel makes you unique?
  3. If you could go back in time and tell your younger self anything what would it be?

Yes, it worked ONCE! Trust me it never worked ever again in my entire life. My grandmother looked under the bed every single day until I was 16 years of age or so she told me. I know one day I will do the writing thing, it is a bucket list item! Probably be a cozy mystery, so all my book blogging friends will DNF it probably lol
